Curricular Inclusion

Lipthratt & Houston

7:30 PM

This session will explore frameworks for evaluating instructional materials for bias. With the large increase in online instruction comes an increase of online instructional materials. This places more responsibility on educators to select materials that are culturally responsible. But many teachers have not had access to guidance about how to evaluate online content for bias and stereotypes. This lack of guidance could cause harm to historically excluded populations of students and could frustrate teachers as they navigate an abundance of resources. This session will explore several frameworks for evaluating instructional materials for bias and stereotypes.
